Our Doughboy pool had "ice damage" this year - which buckled the walls - Doughboy says this is not covered under its warranty.
I want to replace just the wall of the pool - the uprights and rail are still in fine condition - any idea where I can get just a wall at a non-exorbitant price?
Hi Sandi. The short answer is no. You would want to replace a Doughboy brand pool wall with another Doughboy brand wall so you are stuck dealing with only an authorized Doughboy dealer. I assume you already know, these walls are not cheap.
I have written hundreds, or so it seems, pages on this site about repairing winter freeze damaged walls. Browse the different sections of Ask The Pool Pro and you will find lots of them. Or you can use the search function and do a site search for wall repair.
The type of repair you do will depend on the extent and location of the damage. Damage near the top may just need pulling the liner back and hammering the wall flat. Damage near the base may need reinforcement. There is a lot more water pressure to contend with near the bottom of an above ground pool.
I also have hundreds of pages with people looking for, or selling, above ground pool parts. Something in those pages might work for you.
Buying a used pool is another option. It is not uncommon to be able to buy an entire pool, just a year or two old, for less money than the cost of a new wall. The advantage to this is you get all the other neat stuff that comes with the package. Spare filters, ladders and cleaners will always come in handy down the road.
If it were me, I would not be buying a brand new pool wall from Doughboy. There are just too many other options.
