Our manufacturer said to put a small-grain, sifted sand base and trowel it very smooth. Lay in the liner and fill the pool. THEN, use pool BUT don't put any feet on the base for two weeks. We have a perfectly smooth, no indents bottom of our pool. Why is everyone going to such lengths instead of doing what we were told to do?
Hi William I totally agree.

I recently had a round above ground pool professionally installed. My pool was installed with a happy bottom (foam padding). Is it normal for the pool liner to crease where the happy bottom is seemed together? This is where all the dirt collects.
Hi Michelle This is normal.
Hi. I am wondering if you have ever used, heard of, or know of any good or bad reviews on this product:
gladon.com/perfectpoolbottom.htm
It is the "Perfect Pool Bottom" and has a 10-year warranty. It seems to be proprietary, but there isn't much I can find online about it.
This is my first pool, and I am taking my time in leveling the ground. I plan to have a sand base, as well as some sort of floor pad. This is a 24' round AGP.
I notice there are so many options, but when looking at them all, the above product simply is not mentioned a lot over the web which seems strange to me.
It is fairly pricey, but I will have a full wrap-around deck on this pool which means I am not too concerned with doing this "right" if spending a little more means less headache down the road. If you don't know of or don't like the above pad, what is the best overall way to help protect the liner and also prevent the divots I read so much about? A somewhat cushioned bottom might be nice too :)
Hi I have never used it. The concerning part for me is the 5' wide overlapping panels. It seems that overlap would be visible under the liner.
